Superstar Allu Arjun and director Atlee’s forthcoming film AA22xA6 has already become one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. However, the excitement surged dramatically when Bollywood star Deepika Padukone joined the cast. Subsequently, it was revealed that actors Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Allu Arjun’s co-star from Pushpa 2, Rashmika Mandanna, are also part of the ensemble. But what is this grand project about? Recent reports indicate that Allu Arjun will portray an entire family lineage in the Atlee film, marking the actor’s first venture into a multiple role project.
Several esteemed news sources (including Moneycontrol and Mathrubhumi) have reported that Allu Arjun will take on the roles of four different generations: a grandfather, a father, and two sons—all portrayed by him in a single film. Initially conceived as a dual role, Arjun advocated for all four characters, and Atlee gave his approval following look-tests.
Deepika Padukone has officially joined the project, marking her debut in the South Indian film industry, where she will portray a fierce “warrior queen.” Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur have also been confirmed as part of the cast. Rashmika Mandanna is set to play a villainous character, reportedly a negative “bold queen” type, rounding out the main four heroines.
It is highly probable that Allu Arjun will represent four generations, presenting a unique challenge in Indian cinema. The core cast includes four prominent actresses, and the film promises sci-fi magnificence with extensive visual effects, which has been definitively confirmed. Specific plot details, such as animated avatars or appearances by Hollywood stars, have yet to be validated pending official announcements. The excitement surrounding the project is palpable, characterized by both extraordinary aspirations and daring casting decisions.
The film is categorized as high-concept science fiction, likely exploring themes of parallel universes and featuring cutting-edge visual effects. Principal photography commenced in Mumbai on June 12, 2025, with a tentative release window set for late 2026 or early 2027.
