In a recent interview, Shruti Haasan openly discussed the significant differences between the public personas and private characters of several leading names in the South, as she gears up for the release of Coolie, featuring superstar Rajinikanth.
Shruti revealed during her appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast that the humility exhibited by South Indian actors is often a conscious choice rather than an inherent trait. She elaborated on the fragile aspect of celebrity status by stating, “They believe that if they do not display humility, their success will vanish.”
According to her, many celebrities choose to behave modestly in public due to a profound fear of losing their popularity. “The essential point is that they maintain their humility to ensure their continued success,” Shruti remarked. They believe that they will no longer receive the benefits of the goddess of knowledge, Saraswati ka haath hat jayega.
Collaborating with some of the most prominent figures in the South, including Pawan Kalyan, Vijay, Prabhas, and Rajinikanth, Shruti openly expressed her opinions about each of them. She remarked, “Pawan Kalyan and Vijay are quite reserved gentlemen.” In contrast, Prabhas is not! He is exceptionally kind and brings a lot of joy. While he appreciates his achievements, he approaches them with a sense of nonchalance. On certain days, he appears to be still coming to terms with everything that has transpired in his life.”
Shruti had only commendations for Rajinikanth. He is astute and clever, yet he possesses a very warm demeanor. I even praised him for being an excellent conversationalist. He is very approachable and brings such positive energy to the set. Everyone finds it enjoyable to work alongside him.
