In 1988, a significant controversy arose involving Vinod Khanna and actress Madhuri Dixit during the filming of their movie, Dayavaan. Vinod Khanna continued to kiss Madhuri for five minutes despite the director’s command to stop, resulting in a traumatic experience for the then 20-year-old actress, who suffered both mental and physical harm, including a bleeding lip.
The event in question took place during the production of the 1988 Bollywood film Dayavan, which was directed by Feroz Khan. In this movie, Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit played a fervent romantic couple. One of the most discussed moments was the intimate scene accompanied by the song ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe Pyaar Aaya Hai.’
Reports indicate that while filming this particular scene, Vinod Khanna exhibited excessive enthusiasm and continued to kiss Madhuri Dixit even after the director had signaled to stop. Some accounts suggest that he bit her lip, resulting in bleeding. This unforeseen conduct left Madhuri feeling uneasy and troubled. Subsequently, she expressed regret for her involvement in the scene, indicating that she should have refused to participate, as it did not contribute positively to the film.
The dispute escalated when director Feroz Khan decided to include the scene in the film’s final version, despite Madhuri’s protests. Subsequently, Madhuri Dixit is said to have refrained from collaborating with Vinod Khanna on future endeavors. This incident serves as a significant illustration of the difficulties and intricacies actors may encounter during intimate scenes in cinema.
