Jaya Bachchan, a notable veteran actress and also a politician now shared an incident from one of the past incidents when husband Amitabh Bachchan was hospitalized due to severe health crisis. The actress while highlighting the lack of proper medical facilities in the country, recalled an incident where she personally supervised Amitabh Bachchan inside the hospital, and served him during his illness.
Recently in the parliament, Jaya Bachchan spoke on India’s Public Health Facility. She said it looks good when MPs from different states flaunt their acheivements and talk good on behalf of their states. But she feels unfortunate for not being able to heap praises regarding the same. Bringing down the context to the increased infant mortality rate and deteriorating public healthcare at present, Jaya Bachchan recalled an incident of the past. She mentioned that her husband, superstar of Bollywood – Amitabh Bachchan was severely ill and was hospitalised for treatment.

“There Were No Oxygen Cylinders Available” : Jaya Bachchcan On Amitabh Bachchan ‘s Critical State
As she spoke further, she added, “He needed oxygen for 24 hours, and was in the ICCU.I was personally superivising him, as there were no nurses available at the place.” Jaya stated that the oxygen cylinders were over and Amitabh was gasping for breath. Somehow when they managed to arrange the oxygen cylinders at midnight for him, they were founded empty.
As Jaya quotes, “Can you imagine the condition of the patient(Amitabh Bachchan) and the family(Amitabh’s family).” However, somebody was kind enough to provide help and support to Bachchan family at the right time, and offered them oxygen cylinders within time. As she drew this example, Jaya Bachchan said situations like these also come under the label of “medecines”. “These things need to be controlled and taken care of”, she added.
Which Incident Is Jaya Referring To?
Jaya Bachchan did not exactly quote the time and date of the trgaic incident. However, the sensitivity of the issue makes viewers think that she might be addressing the issue of 2005 when Amitabh Bachchan was reportedly diagnosed by a stomach pain while he was on his way to Mumbai.
Prior to that, Big B was declared clinically dead back in 1982, when he was injured in the abdomen while filming a scene. He had subsequently spent several days or probably more than a month in the intensive care unit while the nation prayed for his recovery.
