Thalaiva In the Tollywood film industry, superstar Rajinkanth celebrates his 73rd birthday today, December 12. Rajinikanth is a god for many of his fans, and he is indeed a superstar for them. This actor has had a very fascinating journey in the film industry. He started in the role of villain, but regardless of that, he is a hero.

Rajinikanth, i.e., Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, a boy from the Marathi family back then, met a person, and that was the turning point in his life. That person turned Shivaji Rao Gaikwad into Rajinikanth. Do you know the whole story?

When Rajinikanth was studying at the M.G.R. Film and Television Institute, Tamil Nadu, he was not familiar with the Tamil language and was only centered on Kannada. In that college, he met filmmaker K. Balachander in 1974. He asked K.B. what he expected from an actor, apart from acting. And K.B. Sir smartly answered him, saying, “An aspiring actor should not act outside.” That was the first impression Shivaji Gaikwad made on K. Balachander.

Later, K. Balachander called him to meet in his office. And without any official audition, K. Balachander examined his body language, diction, emotional appeal, etc. At that moment, Shivaji Rao was so tense and conscious that he thought Sir would scold him. But later, K. Balachander said that he was looking for Shivaji for his three films. And this is how just a small conversation and that tricky question gave Shivaji Gaikwad his debut film in 1975, “Apporva Raagangal.” Ahead, he did two more movies consecutively with K.B. Sir, named “Moondru Mudichu” and “Anthuleni Katha.”.

During his first film, K. Balachander told him that he needed to change Shivaji Rao’s name, and he suggested Rajinikanth. Since then, Shivaji Rao Gaikwad has become Rajinikanth. We recently saw him in the movie Jailer, which had a good box office collection.
