June 11, 2024, saw the detention of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in relation to the Renuka Swamy murder case, accompanied by the emergence of a potentially problematic online video. Tuesday afternoon, the Karnataka police unveiled footage supposedly showing Darshan’s vehicle near the site where Renuka’s body was disposed of.
The CCTV footage from the early hours of June 9, 2024, captures a Scorpio car transporting Renuka’s body along with Darshan’s associates. Reportedly, this vehicle was intended for disposing of the deceased. Additionally, the footage features a car believed to be owned by Darshan. However, it remains uncertain whether the actor was present in the vehicle at the time.
What Led To Renuka Swamy’s Murder? How Is Kannada Actor Darshan Involved?
On June 8, 2024, Renuka Swamy’s body was discovered on Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. Employed at an Apollo Pharmacy in Chitradurga, Renuka allegedly sent inappropriate messages to Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan’s. Renuka was reportedly murdered, and his body disposed of in a canal near Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru, with Darshan allegedly present.
Eight accused confirmed Darshan’s involvement. The victim sustained fatal injuries from a wooden log. Although the perpetrators planned to dispose of the body in the Vrushabhavati valley, it was found obstructed and disturbed by dogs. A case for an unidentified body was filed on June 8.
