The Punjab-based franchise is bouncing back in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 after losing early games. The Punjab team registered a five-wicket win against Delhi on Tuesday at the Dubai International Stadium. It was the fiery inning by Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell that helped Punjab chase down the target of 168-runs set up by Delhi in just 19 overs. After the win, skipper KL Rahul applauds Glenn Maxwell for his brilliant performance with bat and ball.
In the post-match presentation, KL Rahul applauds Glenn Maxwell by calling him ‘a great team man.’
The wicket-keeping batsman said, “Glenn is a great team man. He has been batting well in the nets. It was important to back him. It was good to see him get time in the middle. Hopefully he carries this good work into the coming games.”
The elated skipper poked fun in the conversation by saying that once in a while it is good to wrap up the game in the 19th over.
It was clearly a team effort as the Punjab spearhead Mohammed Shami bowled some brilliant deliveries. Especially, against the powerful batting line up of Delhi.
KL Rahul once again was all praises for Mohammed Shami. He believes that the latter is coming in with a lot of confidence from the last game. Rahul then adds that Shami is a senior bowler in their bowling unit and he is getting better with each game.
The win has helped Punjab climb up the number 5 position on the IPL Points Table.
However, despite the loss, Delhi reigns the points table by being at the top. This happens to be Punjab’s hat-trick victory in the IPL 2020.
Up next, Delhi will lock horns with Hyderabad on October 24. On the other hand, Delhi will face-off Kolkata on the same day.
