Prabhas starrer Magnum Opus ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is amongst the top highly anticipated Pan-Indian films releasing this year. The Nag Ashwin directorial flaunts a stellar star-cast that includes some of the top-notch names from the industry like Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone & Disha Patani. Amongst the first of its kind by showcasing a Science-Fantasy-Mythological genre, the mega movie is created at a whopping budget of Rs.600 crores. The venture was earlier supposed to release in January 2024 but got postponed due to post production and large in scale VFX procedures.
However, Kalki 2898 AD was slated to hit the silver screens on May 9th 2024, but the release date of the same is expected to be pushed further. As per a report by Sakshi Post, the makers (Vyjayanthi Movie) may further delay the debut date of the film for a later day in the month of May. As the voting for General Elections 2024 (Lok Sabha) in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh and Vidhan Sabha Elections 2024 in Andhra Pradesh is scheduled to be conducted on 13th May (2024), makers do not want the same to clash with the release date of Prabhas Starrer as both the states, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh are the hugest movie markets for the Baahubali actor.
As per sources, the Kalki 2898 AD could be pushed further to June 2024, but there is no official confirmation from the official producers or P.R team of this Pan-India creation.
As per media reports, the tech team of Mahindra (automobiles) has assisted Nag Ashwin for the futuristic and next level designs for the vehicles showcased in the movie. The sets for this upcoming star-studded project were designed in the Ramoji Film City (Hyderabad) and are monstrous in terms of scale and budget. Additionally, Dazzling Diva Disha Patani has also shot for an exotic item song with Prabhas in Italy.
