Kajol steps into the world of web series and is set to make her web series debut with Disney+ Hotstar’s show. The streaming platform released the teaser of Kajol’s debut web series The Good Wife – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka on Thursday. The series is a remake of the popular CBS show The Good Wife. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actor will be seen playing the role of a lawyer.
To announce the news Kajol took to her social media and shared the teaser. In 25-second-long video the actress is seen getting ready as an advocate, as walks into the office and fronts the camera to say “Shuru Karein”. Sharing the video on the Instagram account Kajol captioned, “Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka – a fight of #TheGoodWife #HotstarSpecials #TheGoodWife, coming soon only on @DisneyPlusHS #TheGoodWifeOnHotstar #DisneyPlusDay #FirstLook.”
The Good Wife – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka is an official Indian remake of the popular American legal and political drama television series of the same name. The seven-season series revolves around the life of Alicia Florrick, who resumes her career in law after her husband’s infamous public s*x and political corruption scandal.
Speaking about the new character and new project Kajol said, “I have been playing multiple characters throughout my acting journey, but the firsts are always special. The beauty of OTT platforms is that they give creators and actors an opportunity to reinvent and experiment with different formats, and with Disney Hotstar’s The Good Wife, that’s exactly what I got. As a career first move, I will be playing a lawyer in my first ever series, directed by the fabulous Suparn. I’m excited to be sharing more about the show and the character I play, so stay tuned.”
Disney+ Hotstar released the first look of Kajol from the upcoming show as part of its Disney+ Day celebration. In all her years of an acting career, Kajol will play a lawyer for the first time. This also marks her debut in the web series. She has already made a digital debut with Netflix film Tribhanga alongside, Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi. The Hindi version of The Good Wife is directed by Suparn Verma and produced by Banijay Asia.
