Obamas And Russo Bros Team Up For Mohsin Hamid’s Bestseller Exit West

Former US President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama team up with Russo bros for a Netflix production, based on Mohsin Hamid’s 2017 Bestseller Exit West.

Reportedly, many close sources to the production have claimed that the biggies are in talks to produce the feature film for Netflix. However, there are no official announcement has been made about the same. Some reports further claim that British Pakistani actor Riz Ahmed has been hired for a role, while BAFTA award-winning director Yann Demange is being eyed by the makers to helm the project.

Exit West follows the story of young Saeed and Nadia, living in an unnamed city amid a civil war who flee using a system of magical doors that lead to different locations around the globe and issues that are faced by global refugees and the crisis that has shaken the region.

Riz and Mohsin had previously collaborated on 2012 political thriller drama The Reluctant Fundamentalist. The film was an adaptation of Hamid’s book of the same name.
