Will Johnny Depp Return In ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Reboot? Producer Reveals

The producer of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise wants Johnny Depp back in his character of Jack Sparrow in the reboot part.

Post Johnny Depp’s famous statement of not joining the Pirates franchise back, now the producer of the franchise ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, Jerry Bruckheimer shed light on Depp’s involvement in the upcoming reboot of the film. It’s difficult to imagine the Pirates franchise without Depp. With his character of Jack Sparrow, the franchise has grossed over billions of dollars.

In a recent conversation with Entertainment Tonight, a producer talked about the possibility of the actor’s comeback to the franchise; he said, “If it was up to me, of course. I love having Depp… He’s a great actor and good friend… I’ve certainly spoken to him, but we’ll see what happens.”

Pirates of the Caribbean comes under Disney’s banner. Disney doesn’t want it to get into any kind of controversy by inviting Depp back to the reboot. Because Depp had some legal battles going on. The defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has put dark shadows on the careers of both the actors.  Well, Depp got a victory in this defamation case, but to avoid any kind of risk, Disney is gradually going ahead. Our beloved Jack Sparrow is now 60 years old, and thus it might be difficult for him to handle the character with the same energy in the reboot.

During his defamation case, the actor made a harsh statement “nothing on this Earth” would convince him to return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, even if Disney offered him $300 million and alpacas. His arrival for the 6th movie, i.e. reboot of the franchise, is almost difficult, but yet the producer left the fans in hope.
