Actor Danny Masterson Sentenced To 30 Years In Jail For 2 R*pes

“That 70’s Show” actor Danny Masterson was sentenced for imprisonment for 30 years. On Thursday, the actor was charged with rapes of two women around two decades ago. The decision was made after a jury found Masterson guilty of two counts of rape in May.

The 47 years old actor and Scientologist was convicted in May on a second trial, during which a jury deadlocked on a charge that he raped a third woman. The judge announced the sentence after hearing the side of story from the women who accused the actor of rape.

As per the New York Times, one of the accusers identified as N. Trout, described the impact made by the actions of the actor. She said in the court, “The body is a relentless witness, when you raped me you stole from me”. She added, “That’s what rape is, a theft of the spirit. You are pathetic, disturbed and completely violent. The world is better off with you in prison.”

Another woman who accused the actor of rape also shared her part in the court, she said, “He has not shown an ounce of remorse for the pain he caused”. She added, “I knew he belonged behind bars for the safety of all the women he came into contact with. I am so sorry, and I am so upset. I wish I had reported him sooner to the police.”

Los Angeles district attorney, George Gascón praised the bravery of the women who accused the actor he said, “Justice was finally served today”. Talking about the actor he added, “Los Angeles will no longer be a hunting ground for Hollywood elite who feel entitled to prey on women.”

Meanwhile, Danny Masterson’s attorney Shawn Holley told the judge before the sentence, “It’s his life that will be impacted by what you decide today and the life of his nine-year-old daughter, who means the world to him, and to whom he means the world.”

After the jury’s decision, Masterson’s attorney told the media outside the courtroom that she was very disappointed with the outcome. Shawn said, “Though we have great respect for the jury, and for our system of justice, sometimes they get it wrong, and that’s what happened here”.

Meanwhile, the 47 years old actor Danny Masterson will be eligible for a parole in 20 years. He had now been sentenced for 30 years in jail. The actor was convicted of raping two women at his home in the Hollywood Hills in the early 2000s.
