The sudden demise of Bollywood’s late versatile actor Irrfan Khan sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry. Irrfan Khan succumbed to death on April 29, 2020, in Mumbai. He was battling a rare type of cancer for the past 2 years.
The whole nation mourned the death of one of the finest actors of our times and paid tribute to the star by recalling some of his best movies and some great memories which they shared with the late actor. Meanwhile, the village of Tringalwadi Fort in Igatpuri, Maharashtra, has renamed their locality to pay tribute to Irrfan Khan.
Irrfan Khan brought a plot in Igatpuri a decade ago which was his vacation home away from the flashes of the camera. A member of the Zilla Parishad in Igatpuri, Gorakh Bodke, revealed that the late actor heled the families of the villages a lot. He made donations for providing medical ambulances and also for the development of the area. He was also funding local schools and Bodke mentioned that Irrfan helped them whenever they needed anything.
According to the reports, Irrfan Khan did everything he can to help the tribal families by providing them with textbooks, books, raincoats, and sweaters to more than 1000 students. He even sponsored dozen of computers for the local students and always sent them sweets during festivals.
Although the villagers couldn’t see the late actor post his cancer diagnosis in 2018, they mourned the loss of their guardian angel. In order to pay tribute to the late actor, Bodke said that they will formally rename the locality as Hero-chi-wadi which loosely translates to the neighborhood of the hero. It is the villagers’ subtle way to pay an ode to one of the finest actors.
On the work front, Irrfan Khan’s last Bollywood movie will be Angrezi Medium which released in 2020 and is currently airing on Disney + Hotstar.
