Ankita Lokhande Reveals Randeep Hooda Didn’t Want Her In “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” At First

After facing a mental breakdown in the Bigg Boss 17 house, Ankita made her place among the top 4 contestants, and now the actress is ready to showcase her acting roots in an upcoming movie by Randeep Hooda, “Swatantra Veer Savarkar”. Ankita will be seen in the character of Yamunabai Savarkar, wife of Veer Savarkar. Randeep Hooda starrer and Randeep Hooda directed this film will release in Hindi as well as Marathi. On March 11, the Marathi trailer of the film was released. The star cast of the film marked their presence in Pune for the trailer launch. During this event, Ankita revealed that Randeep didn’t want her to be a part of this film. He almost rejected her. She explained, “He said, ‘I don’t think I want you in the film’. I was like, why? He was like, ‘You are too pretty for the character (Yamunabai Savarkar)’. I was like, ‘Please don’t say that.’”

Later, she lauded her co-star for the kind of work he has done in the film. She said, “He had done so much research, he was so sure about what he wanted in the film, he knew everything about what she (Yamunabai Savarkar) was like. She was the successful woman behind a successful man.”

The film will be released in theatres on March 22nd. As the trailer depicts, it will be a treat for all history lovers and enthusiasts who want to learn about the untold story of the Indian freedom struggle. 

This will be Ankita Lokhande’s second historical venture after Kangana Ranaut starrer “Manikarnika”. And first ever project after Bigg Boss 17. Randeep Hooda’s another movie starring Ileana D’Cruz “Tera Kya Hoga Lovely” released on March 8. But Swatantra Veer Savarkar will definitely give him more success than this film.
