Remember Ranbir Kapoor’s Dialogue In Animal ‘You Have A Big Pelvis’, Does It Really Contribute To Healthy Babies?

Does a Big Pelvis Help in Giving Birth to Healthy Babies? In this article, we'll explore what this means.

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ is roaring at the box office, amassing a huge amount. Despite the film facing criticism for its misogynistic dialogues and disturbing scenes, it hasn’t halted its success, earning a staggering Rs 800 crore worldwide.

One of the movie’s notable dialogues involves Ranbir Kapoor saying, ‘You have a big pelvis; you can produce healthy children.’ What does this mean, and does it genuinely contribute to the birth of healthy babies?

In simple terms, ‘big pelvis’ refers to childbearing hips, indicating a woman’s pelvic structure, often used to describe larger or wider hips in women.

However, Wider hips or a big pelvis vary among women and aren’t uniform in size for everyone. Essentially, some women naturally possess a wider pelvis and hips, potentially facilitating easier childbirth, as reported by Healthline.

Having wider hips can offer more space for a baby to pass through the pelvic bones. However, it’s essential to note that while childbearing hips may theoretically aid in childbirth, some women with wider pelvises have encountered difficult deliveries, while others with narrower pelvic shapes have experienced easier births. The birthing experience depends on various factors such as the baby’s size and position, the mother’s health, and the strength of contractions. Ultimately, one can’t predict their birthing experience until the actual delivery.

Regarding ‘Animal,’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga addressed the criticisms faced by his films. Speaking about misogyny in an interview with Galatta Plus, he stated, “Misogyny is the disrespect of women, that’s the actual definition. So, no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even me as a person… I always feel my production company’s name is Bhadrakali Productions, I don’t know why people feel I disrespect (women). Not people, just these 15-20 jokers. It’s the wrong word to use (to describe) Kabir Singh and Animal.”

He also shed light on the dialogue about the ‘big pelvis,’ explaining, “Because he didn’t know what to say, he said, ‘Geetanjali, you have a big pelvis’. That’s his way of saying we’ll get married and have babies. I thought it was a compliment.”
