Rakesh Roshan has created a superhero cinematic universe with Krrish film series. Krrish is India’s popular superhero after Shaktimaan. The film series started with Koi Mil Gaya and the franchise was later extended to Krrish and Krrish 3. Now the makers are all set for the fourth chapter of the magnum opus. The creator of the superhero saga Rakesh Roshan shared the latest update of Krrish 4.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan spoke about Krrish 4. He said, “My scripting is almost done. It’s a big-budget film. The challenge for me is that in today’s day and age, people are aware of and watch superhero films from all over the world. These superhero films are made on very big budgets. And we don’t have such big budgets. So we have to make superhero films with very strong content and with newer ideas to come at par with the big-budget superhero movies. Meanwhile, Hollywood films are released all over the world. Our films are released in India and certain overseas territories with a huge South Asian diaspora and hence our box office potential is limited as compared to Hollywood. So, I am just waiting for the right time when the audiences would start flocking to the cinemas once again in big numbers.”
The filmmaker was asked if the audience can expect a Krrish Cinematic Universe at some point. Rakesh Roshan replied, “Yes, why not? Krrish 4 actually has those elements.” It is reported that the makers have planned to elongate the Krrish universe creating a visual spectacle for the fans. It is touted to be grand with intense and high-action sequences. Chapter 4 will be set in a whole new world with new characters, thrilling twists, and a superlative storyline.
It is wondered if Koi Mil Gaya’s USP ‘Jadoo’, which was not in rest two parts, will make comeback in Krrish 4. To this, the director said, “It’s all there. But I can’t say much. All I can say is that it’s going to be a very emotional and commercial film.”
Krrish 4 is now in the pre-production stage after being announced in 2021 since the lead actor Hrithik Roshan is busy headlining Vikram Vedha. The makers are elongating the franchise making the fourth chapter visually appealing and a cinematic wonder. The project is in the pipeline and will go on floors soon.
