A few days ago, Urvashi Rautela confirmed that she will feature in the biopic of Parveen Babi. She took to her Instagram and wrote, “Bollywood Failed #ParveenBabi but I will make you proud. Trust the magic of new beginnings.”
Urvashi has already begun the prep for the film but did you know that she was not the first choice to play Parveen Babi on-screen?

In conversation with Amar Ujala, the writer of the film, Dhiraj Mishra, revealed that Urvashi wasn’t the first choice for the film. He said that they were initially considering Shraddha Kapoor or Sonakshi Sinha to play Parveen Babi.
He then further revealed how Urvashi came on-board. Dhiraj said, “But when we saw Urvashi Rautela performing on ‘Jawani Teri Bijli Ki Taar Hai’ in the music video ‘Bijli Ki Taar’, we decided that Urvashi Rautela will play the role of Parveen Babi. Her look is quite similar to that of Parveen Babi. And then, we needed a girl who had not done many films for the role of Parveen Babi.”
Dhiraj further revealed that the film’s producer Wasim Khan had approached Urvashi Rautela for the film two months ago and she agreed to do it immediately after reading the script.
Urvashi was recently seen in action crime thriller series Inspector Avinash.
