Sriram Raghavan’s, much-awaited and highly anticipated action thriller film, Merry Christmas starring Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif with South actor Vijay Sethupathi was released in theatres on 12th January 2024. After registering a low opening at the box office the film witnessed slow business on Monday and dipped down further on Tuesday.

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas which opened up to positive reviews from the critics and netizens, failed to secure a decent opening at the box office. The action-thriller secured a box office opening worth only ₹ 2.55 Cr at the box office.
As per Sacnilk.com, the film saw a huge dip on Monday and earned ₹ 1.65 Cr, the action-thriller further dipped down on Tuesday and earned ₹ 1.15 Cr. The domestic collections of the film now stand at a total of ₹ 12.53 Cr. The overseas and global collection of the film stands at a total of approx. ₹2.5 crore.
The box office collection and performance of the film, Merry Christmas is majorly affected due to its box office clash with South films like Mahesh Babu starrer Guntur Kaaram, Teja Sajja starrer Hanuman, Dhanush starrer Captain Miller and Tamil film Ayalaan. All these 4 South films have secured higher opening and box office collections than Merry Christmas.
