When Karan Johar Slammed Kangana Ranaut For Calling Him “Movie Mafia”

Karan Johar reacted to Kangana Ranaut's calling him a movie mafia, said, "I am not interested in working with her; it does not mean I am a movie mafia.

Over the past year, Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut and filmmaker Karan Johar’s face-off has been on. Karan is often seen as a target of Kangana’s nepotism talk and the rich favouring the class, and the actress leaves no chance to take a dig at the filmmaker. It started after she openly called him “movie mafia” during an episode of the show Koffee With Karan.

She is often seen taking to her social media handles to express her anger towards the lack of opportunities for outsiders in the industry due to nepotism.

Karan reacted to this during an interview when he got the tag of movie mafia from Kangana’s mouth, which people also used for him. Talking with Anupama Chopra, he asked Kangana if she was on your show, she called you the movie mafia. He replied, “This is the first time I will be speaking about it. ” I like when a guest is going to be kind of off-course. So she was my guest. So I have to hear what she says, and she has a right to have an opinion. I don’t think she understood the entirety of that statement. What is nepotism? Am I working with my nephews, nieces, daughters, and sons? That two of them, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, that you have introduced, and Siddharth Malhotra, are also part of the other third of that pie. Who has nothing to do with the movies. So I didn’t get what she meant the movie Mafia.

He further added, “Because what does she think we are doing? sitting and not giving her work. Ah, is that what makes us mafia? No, we do that by choice, you know, because I am not interested in working with her. That does not mean I am a movie mafia.”
