Kangana Ranaut Starrer Thalaivi Makers Incur Losses Of Rs. 5 Crore?

The makers of Kangana Ranaut Thalaivi fear that the sets will be destroyed due to the rains if the lockdown extends. Read below to know more.

A nationwide lockdown has been imposed because of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The lockdown has halted shooting of several films and the production houses are facing losses since the schedules are abruptly ended. Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi is amongst the other films whose shooting has come to a sudden halt.

Talking about Thalaivi, the film has till now incurred a loss of Rs. 5 crore due to the lockdown. The reports have stated that the 45-day schedule was supposed to begin from March 10. The filmmakers have constructed the Parliament House at the Ramkrishna Cine Studios in Hyderabad. The makers were looking forward to wrap-up the shooting in mid-April followed by a shooting schedule in Chennai.

The producer of the film, Shailesh Singh revealed that they will have to pack-up the shooting before the monsoon arrives if not the sets will be de destroyed. He also mentioned that reconstructing it would be pretty expensive.

The makers of the film are worried that two elegant sets that were built in Hyderabad and Chennai may get destroyed once the monsoons begin. Another producer of the film, Vishnu Vardan Induri opened up that they had to cancel the Hyderabad shoot amid the lockdown. He further added that they had recreated Mount Round at AVM Studios in Chennai and was supposed to do patchwork shoot over there. He also revealed that 40 percent of the film is yet to be shot.

Shailesh Singh further added that they were not able to shoot in Hyderabad for a single day because of the lockdown but paid the studio already. He also said that even if they get a 10-day window, they will wrap up the outdoor shoot.

Speaking of the film, the story of the film is based on the story of legendary actor turned politician. The film will be released in three languages- Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and will be directed by Vijay and Arvind Swamy. The film is slated to release on June 26, 2020.
