Kalki 2898 AD, which premiered globally on Thursday, it experienced a significant decline in its earnings on its second day, as reported by the industry monitoring service Sacnilk. The film Kalki 2898 AD made a gross of Rs 95.3 crore in India on its initial day, but its revenue fell by more than 43 percent on the following day, reaching only Rs 54 crore.
The significant decline was observed in its Telugu release. Although the movie made Rs 65.8 crore in its Telugu release on the first day, the Nag Ashwin-directed film only managed Rs 25.65 crore on the second day. The film achieved an attendance rate of 65.02 percent in Telugu on Friday. The Hindi language earnings remained unchanged at Rs 22.5 crore on both days.
According to Sacnilk.com, the film featuring Deepika Padukone and Prabhas titled “Kalki 2898 AD” grossed an astounding Rs 95 crore net in India, with ₹ 65 Cr coming from international markets. The total gross collection for the film in India is believed to be around Rs 115 crore. Globally, the movie took in over Rs 180 crore on its opening day.
On the inaugural day, Kalki 2898 AD outshone KGF 2’s global opening day records, securing the third position in terms of highest opening day sales, just behind RRR and Baahubali 2. By the end of the second day, Baahubali 2 had grossed Rs 382 crore globally, while RRR had achieved Rs 350 crore. The Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 2 had also amassed Rs 286 crore worldwide. Given that Kalki generated Rs 191.5 crore on its opening day, it remains uncertain whether it can top KGF 2’s sales on the second day.
After a significant drop in its earnings, it’s important to determine if the Rs 500 crore forecast for the weekend will actually come to pass for the movie.
