John Abraham and Bipasha Basu’s love was the talk of the town at that time; they fell in love on the sets of Jism 2 (2003), and then there was no looking back. Their onscreen and offscreen philosophies received immense love; their adorable expressions of affection gave everyone relationship goals, and millions waited with bated breath for them to get married. But when John and Bipasha announced their separation after nearly a decade of being together, it came as a bolt from the blue.
Reasons ranging from infidelity to John’s reluctance were cited as the reasons for the split in their relationship.
Both of them also worked together in Vikram Bhatt’s 2004 Indian Hindi-language romantic psychological thriller film Aetbaar, and both were madly in love with each other at that time. On the set, while exclusively talking with Lehren, John revealed that he is obsessed with Bipasha.
When asked how he got this role, he answered, “I was called to Vikram’s office, and he narrated the role to me, I was shocked to hear it, and I told myself that I was very unfortunate and very lucky to get such a good role opposite such a brilliant cast.” When he was asked about his statement, what was surprising about it? He said, “The surprising thing is that. I guess any actor would dream of getting a role that is closest to his character trait in real life, so I am playing an obsessive lover, and I think in real life I am an obsessive lover.” Then he was asked, “Who are you obsessed with? John replied, “I am obviously obsessed with Bipasha.”
