Anil Sharma Took An Indirect Dig At Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2: Netizens Say, “Just One Movie Of This Flop Director Gets…”

Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma is currently facing criticism on social media. This comes after he reportedly shared a tweet suggesting that Akshay Kumar’s release of OMG 2 on the same day impacted Sunny Deol’s film by splitting the number of screens and potentially preventing it from setting many records. Both films were released on August 11. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has managed to surpass the Rs 300 crore mark, while Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer OMG 2 has achieved Rs 100 crore at the global box office.

Anil Sharma mistakenly retweeted a quote that read, “Congratulations,Akki ssir,but you have literally denied Gadar 2’s many records by splitting screens and making use of overflows. Still congrats.” He quickly deleted his retweet; however, netizens took screenshots that made the rounds on the internet, calling the director ‘insecure’ for doing so.

Since when are we giving Sunny deol open long weekends? This is just petty nonsense. Why is this weirdo even going in akshays replies to quote shit.” The second user wrote, “Sounds like kashmir file waaala director.’ One more wrote, “Just one movie of this flop director gets hit and he is on cloud 9 suddenly.”

After facing so much criticism, he apologised and said it was just mistaken.
