Alia Bhatt Addresses Debate Around Nepotism

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt opened up about the debate around, “nepotism” in the industry. She said that the topic has come up a lot in conversation over the last couple of years. She added that she empathizes and understands the fact that it has possibly been easier for her to get through the door than the next person, and that she compares her dreams to another person’s dreams. Alia stated that no dream is bigger, smaller or more intense. Everybody’s dreams are the same, and everybody’s desires are the same.

The actress further added that she completely understands, where the conversation is coming from and that she acknowledges the fact that she has got the head start. She also acknowledges the fact that she had privileges, which is why she gives 100 percent every day and never takes her work for granted.

For the unversed, Alia Bhatt has often been criticized for having easily entered the industry due to her family background. On many accounts the actress has been linked with filmmaker Karan Johar, who was often called out for his favoritism for the actress.

On the other hand, Alia recently completed her 10 years in Bollywood. On the work front, Alia will soon be making her Hollywood debut with “Heart Of Stone”. She also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh and Jee Le Zara with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.
