Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar took over the headlines yesterday as a new advertisement featuring him along with Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan went viral. The trio is seen in the new Vimal advertisement. Though the actors are promoting Vimal Elaichi, it’s a no brainer that it actually is a surrogate advertisement for Vimal pan masala. Akshay joined as the brand ambassador of the tobacco brand a few months ago and the actor was heavily criticized for it. Akshay, who is known for his healthy life choices, disappointed fans by promoting a tobacco brand. Keep in mind the views of his fans, Akshay announced disassociation from the brand and promised to give the entire money he earned in charity.
However, when a new ad surfaced online, fans were furious again. While observing the nationwide criticism, Akshay took to his Twitter and thrashed a news outlet which mentioned that Akshay has returned as the ambassador of Vimal Pan Masala.
Akshay replied, “‘Returns’ as ambassador? Here’s some fact check for you Bollywood Hun****, if by chance you are interested in things other than fake news. These ads were shot on 13th October, 2021. I have not had anything to do with the brand ever since I publicly announced the discontinuation of the endorsement. They can legally run the already shot ads till the end of next month. Chill and do some real news.”
Well, even in April, he had stated, “The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes.”
On the work front, Akshay was last seen in Hindi film “Mission Raniganj” which was released in theatres on October 6.
