The ongoing Boycott trend aka the cancel culture has indeed been one of the most debatable topics recently, many actors from the Hindi industry shared their views on the same including Aamir Khan, and Akshay Kumar, among many others. While recently the South industry superstar Chiyaan Vikram was asked to comment on the ongoing boycott trend, reacting to question the actor took a sly jibe at the trend with his witty response. Chiyaan Vikram is currently gearing up for his upcoming Tamil flick, Cobra. During the promotions of his film, the actor was asked by the media to address the ongoing viral boycott trend aka the cancel culture which apparently has affected many Bollywood big films like Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.
Reacting to this the actor shared his witty response and said, “I don’t know what language you are speaking. What do you mean by that (boycott)? I know what’s a boy. I very well know what’s a girl. I know very, very well, what’s a cot. But, I don’t know what’s a boycott,”
Bollywood Celebrities On Boycott Trends
After Aamir Khan’s film, Laal Singh Chaddha became a target of the viral boycott trends, many upcoming films like Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Hrithik Roshan’s Vikram Vedha also faced the wrath of the netizens. However many Bollywood celebrities like Anupam Kher, and Vijay Deverakonda among others spoke out about the ongoing trend.
Recently the veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty slammed the cancel culture and said, “We have done a lot of good work too. However, people might not be happy with the type of subjects the films are having these days, and that is why we are going through such a tough time. Hopefully, this will be considered. Initially, it felt like a one-off thing but now we have been continuously seeing that people are not coming to theatres and I can’t put my finger on a reason why and what this is happening.”

Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, Cobra is scheduled to release in theatres on August 31. The film features Chiyaan Vikram, Srinidhi Shetty, and Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan in the lead roles. Miya George, Roshan Mathew, Padmapriya, Kaniha, KS Ravikumar, and Mirnalini Ravi will be seen in supporting roles. Composer AR Rahman scored the music for the film.
