Pankaja Munde praises CM Uddhav Thackeray in her Dusshera rally she held in Bhagwangad.
She complimented the CM for his efforts for flood-hit farmers and also the care package he announced. Munde also sought more relief for the farmers.
“I congratulate and compliment the chief minister for announcing the relief package. At the same time, I request him to be more liberal and announce more relief for the affected farmers.”
While the BJP did not directly condemn the remarks, they did try to downplay its importance. The BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhaye said that while she did praise the Chief Minister, she like the party she belongs to is unhappy with the small relief announced.
“Though she has praised the CM, she, like the party, is unhappy with the small relief announced by him… and therefore has demanded more relief. The sentiments are the same.”
The Relief Package
The Chief Minister had announced a 10,000 crore relief package that was mainly for the flood-hit farmers.
The opposition was not satisfied though. The BJP criticised that it was not enough as the damage was more severe.
Munde in her compliments also spoke about how she got a frustrated call from the Chief Minister over the matter of sugarcane workers. She said,“When I explained the issue to the CM, the government allowed the stranded cane growers to return home… the chief minister got angry with me… he does so as he is my elder brother. But he listened to me.”
This speech comes days after the Shiv Sena leaders offered her a position in their party.
She also spoke about how she would be also meeting NCP chief Sharad Pawar regarding the problems with cane workers. Munde feels confident that he will solve their issues.
While Munde spoke about the other parties, there was no mention of former CM Devendra Fadnavis or the BJP state chief Chandrakant Patil in her speech.

“This was Munde saheb’s dream. He had once said that he will hold a rally at Shivaji Park. Next year, I might hold the Dussehra rally at… Shivaji Park,” she said.
