AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s lawyer opens up on their separation, expressing hope for reconciliation amid trolling.

In a surprising revelation on November 19, music maestro AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu announced their decision to separate after nearly 30 years of marriage. The news left fans and the entertainment world stunned, which led to many speculations. Adding to these speculations, some linked Rahman’s announcement with bassist Mohini Dey’s divorce news which surfaced just hours earlier. Amid the chatter and trolling over hashtags like #ARRSairaBreakup, the couple’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, has stepped forward to address the ongoing rumours.

Speaking to Galatta India, celebrity lawyer Vandana Shah expressed optimism about AR Rahman and Saira Banu reconciling. When asked if the couple might patch things up, advocate said, “I hope so, like I keep on saying that you know they were such a romantic couple and I’m sure that there’s a lot of above.”

Referring to the statements shared by Rahman and Saira online, Vandana added, “Like Mr. Rahman says in his tweet and Saira says in hers, there’s emotion, there’s pain and I’m sure there’s a lot of love still. I hope they can reconcile because I’m anyway positive and an optimistic person.”

The lawyer also dismissed ongoing speculations about a possible link between Rahman and Mohini Dey. As for the trolling Music Maestro faced for using the hashtag #ARRSairaBreakup, Shah chose for “No comments”.

When asked if she would play a role in reconciling the couple, advocate expressed her willingness, saying, “I hope so too, I hope so too. I hope I can help them to renew their marriage vows and that would be a great role for a divorce royal.”

AR Rahman and Saira Banu, who tied the knot on March 12, 1995, share three children — daughters Khatija and Raheema and son Ameen. Despite their separation, fans continue to hope for their reconciliation, inspired by their enduring bond over the years.
