Actress Sonali Kulkarni is in the headlines after making controversial remarks about “gender equality” and criticizing women for desiring a partner with a high income. While some people supported Sonali, others vehemently disagreed. Uorfi Javed, a popular figure on the internet, appeared dissatisfied with the actress’ remark and inquired as to what was wrong with having a wealthy husband. She referred to her comments as “insensitive” and claimed that by labeling modern women as lethargic when they manage both their careers and household duties, she was insulting them.
The Bigg Boss OTT fame contestant took to her Instagram handle to lashing out at Sonali, she wrote in the caption, “How insensitive , whatever you said ! You’re calling modern day women lazy when they are handling their work as well as household chores together ? What’s wrong in wanting a husband whose earning good ? Men for centuries, men only saw women as vending machines for children, and yes, dowry was the main reason for marriage – dowry . Ladies don’t be afraid to ask or demand . Yes you’re right, women should work, but that’s a privilege that not everyone gets . You’re too entitled to see that may be.”
However, some are unhappy with Uorfi’s point and are telling her that if you don’t understand Sonali’s comment , then why are you triggering yourself? One user wrote, “Behen, bekaar me point ko validate na karo. Insensitive -how ? Isn’t this rather empowering ? She is NOT talking about women who handle profession and households . She is talking about ones who make it a plan to milch the husband for all her wishes and fancies.” Another user wrote, “She said most of the girls”. If you can’t understand the difference btw “most of” and “all of” ,then it’s your problem ,not her. She is not telling anything insensitive but you are . If nothing wrong in wanting a good earning husband then earn yourself too na.”
