Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is one of the most popular sitcoms running on Indian Television right now. The show airs on &TV since 2015 and is still one of the most watched shows. the show stars Aasif Sheikh, Rohitash Gaud, Neha Pendse and Shubhangi Atre in lead roles. Senior actor Pratima Kazmi plays Helen (Vibhuti’s mother) in the show.
Pratima is popularly known for doing negative roles in films and TV. Being associated in a comedy show was a surprise for her fans and a change for her as well. When we asked about her experience on the show, Pratima said, “It was great. Honestly, even I was surprised when I was offered this comedy role. Actors are mostly stereotyped in a certain category and then they are not offered a variety of roles. But it was a big thing for me when this character was offered to me. I feel that every actor can do all kinds of roles. It just depends on the other person if he is willing to take the risk while casting a particular actor. Binaifer Kohli gave me chance to do something different and people loved my character.”
On being asked if she enjoys playing Helen on Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Pratima said, “I enjoy a lot because I am very different in real life. The whole team was very supportive.”
