YRF Decides Not To Sign Ranveer Singh After His Three Biggest Flop Films

Yash Raj Films has decided to take a break from Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh after his three biggest flop films.

Ranveer Singh needs no introduction. He has tried his hand at every role,  from playing dark-shade characters effectively to leaving no stone unturned for the audiences with his comic timing, and he has always taken the risk of experimenting with new things on the big screen. However, since the pandemic, he could not impress the audience with his performances, as his three big-budget films flopped badly. And it seems that this result is going to be costly for him in his Bollywood career.

According to Bollywood Hungama reports, Yash Raj Films is hesitant to contract him for any other projects as a result of the underperformance of 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Cirkus. Although the production company has not released an official statement, it is believed that Aditya Chopra and his core team are presently focused on creating their spy universe and want to avoid any errors. Every film they make requires “utmost concentration, right from pre-production to the last mile of release.”

The entertainment publication’s source was also quoted as saying that the 37-year-old’s films with YRF had all been box-office flops. The source claim,  “a film with Ranveer Singh is the last thing on their mind. Of course, they’ll be making other Spy Universe films too. But of the 6 films that Ranveer has done with YRF, there’s only one that wasn’t a flop. And that’s Gunday (2014). This film, too, was a semi-hit. Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011) and Befikre (2016) were average grossers. Kill Dil (2014) and Jayeshbhai Jordaar, meanwhile, flopped.”

The insider continued, “YRF lost money at the box office even though the six films made money from the sale of OTT and satellite rights.”

On the work front, he will be next seen in Karan Johar’s directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, along with Alia Bhatt. The movie also stars Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
