The Magnus opus helmed by SS Rajamouli has earned around 1200 crores at the global box office collection. Gaining so much popularity and being praised by million, unfortunately, the film has irked some from the UK for showing Britishers in poor light. Recently, after the RRR screening in the US Rajamouli addressed a Q&A session and said despite showing the British in poor light the film is doing well in the UK.

He said, “At the beginning of the film you see the disclaimer card. Even if you miss it, it’s not a history lesson. It’s a story. The audience in general understands it. If a British is playing the villain, they understand that I am not saying all the Britishers are villains. If my heroes are Indians, they understand that all Indians are heroes.”

He further added, “In this film, a particular guy is a villain and a particular guy is a hero. They automatically understand. They may not be knowledgeable about everything but their emotional intelligence is very high. Once we understand that as a storyteller, we don’t have to worry about other peripheral things.”

RRR is a fictional tale of two revolutionaries and their fight against British colonialists. The movie is a period drama set in the backdrop of the 1920s. The action film also portrays friendship and their strong bond and love. The film stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR who were joined by Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt for extended cameos. The film was nominated for Best Picture at the Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Awards. The film would be the first Indian film expected to earn a nomination at the Oscars.
