Selena Gomez gets candid about her mental health in an effort to help others. The former Disney star addressed her struggles in a new interview with Good Morning America in which she shared details about the website Wondermind, which she is launching to help those with similar issues.
However, The Only Murders In The Building actress also revealed that she has not been online in over four years though she is now using social media to reach out to anyone contending with their own struggles. “I haven’t been on the internet in four and a half years,” Selena revealed. She continues, “It has changed my life completely. I am happier, I am more present. I connect more with people. It makes me feel normal.”
The songstress added that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020 and explained that understanding her mental health is the ‘most important thing in the world’ to her. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefy also there to help create the online safe space. The mom of two said she has had her own trials and has “ADHD with trauma, lots of trauma to deal with.”

Co-founder Daniella Pierson said she has OCD and described the new mental health website as a resource ‘for anyone with feelings, who wants to feel understood and loved and cared about.’ The Wondermind site provides free content that is backed my mental health experts, and the Good for You crooner says it’s something she would have used had it been available.
While explaining her mental health struggles, Selena said, “Those days where I don’t want to get out of bed if I had something like Wondermind, even if it took me a minute to get into it, it’s just there. And there’s something that’s really comforting about that.” However, She hopes to use her role as an influencer for good. “If I’m known for anything, I hope it’s simply just for the way I care about people,” Selena said.
