Michael J. Fox Joins Coldplay at Glastonbury Festival 2024 

The 'Back to the Future' star delivered a nostalgic rendition of classic hits, delighting fans and attendees.

In a surprise that electrified the audience, Michael J. Fox joined Coldplay on stage at the Glastonbury Festival 2024, delivering an unforgettable performance. The Back to the Future (1985) star’s appearance added an unexpected touch of nostalgia to the event, which took place on Saturday night.

Coldplay, known for their vibrant live shows and hit songs, was midway through their set when frontman Chris Martin introduced Fox to the crowd. The audience applauded as Fox took the stage, guitar in hand, ready to perform.

The highlight of the night came when Fox and Coldplay teamed up to play the iconic Chuck Berry song featured in Fox’s Back to the Future, “Johnny B. Goode.” The performance became nostalgic for the movie’s fans and a testament to Fox’s enduring appeal. Fox also sang “Go, Johnny, Go, Go, Go”  from the same film.

Chris Martin, visibly thrilled to have Fox on stage, praised the actor for his talent and resilience. “Here is another legendary Michael,” he introduced the star. And added, “One who just totally rocks.” “With his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff: ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Michael J. Fox,” said Martin.

Michael J. Fox previously performedat MetLife Stadium with Coldplay in July 2016. He sang “Johnny B. Goode”in 2016.He appreciated the Coldplay team for making his performance happen. He wrote,

“My team: Lauren, John and Jeff and Steve.”

“Glastonbury all the love and thanks to the @coldplay team who took such great care of us. And many thanks to Chris, Will, Johnny, Guy and Phil.” The actor-activist also wrote, “Oh yeah in case you were wondering…it was f— mind-blowing. There is a time for every band and a band for every time. This is @coldplay’s time.

Fox’s appearance at Glastonbury was not just a musical treat but also a moment of inspiration. The actor, who has been battling Parkinson’s disease since the early 1990s, demonstrated remarkable energy and spirit. His performance was a powerful reminder of his dedication to his craft and fans.
