In this candid conversation, the Golden globe award nominee and iconic American female superstar, Cameron Diaz talked about the growth of her personal life post retiring from acting almost 7 years back with her last role being in 2014 remake of Annie.
She started off by saying, “When you do something at a really high level for a long period of time, you know, when you’re the person that’s sort of delivering on this one thing. Everything around you, all parts of you, that isn’t that has to sort of be handed off to other people”.
She also shared, “I was realizing that. It’s kind of like realizing that one part of me that functioned at a high level wasn’t enough”.
She mentioned about how she wanted to make her life ‘more manageable’ and this decision taken by her on professional front finally allowed her to have a family by getting married with rocker Benji Madden in January 2015 also helping in making her personal life get more flourished as well.
She explains, “I met my husband, we started a family. All of those things I didn’t have time for before and didn’t have the space to make the right decisions for me at the time to bring that in”.
She welcomed their daughter Raddix with hubby Benji Madden in December 2019.
Speaking about her love for acting she adds, “It’s fun to do, I love it, I love inertia. I just realized I looked around and it was just so many parts of my life that I wasn’t touching and that I wasn’t managing. I couldn’t really manage it because it was so big. Everything was so massive”.
