Renowned soap opera actor Johnny Wactor, celebrated for his portrayal of Brando Corbin on General Hospital, met a tragic end in Los Angeles early Saturday morning when he was fatally shot. As reported by TMZ, referencing Wactor’s mother and law enforcement sources, the 37-year-old actor was shot in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning, alongside a friend, after they encountered three individuals attempting to steal his car’s catalytic converter.

Scarlett Wactor, the mother of Johnny Wactor, informed TMZ that her son chose not to engage in a confrontation with the suspects, yet he was still shot. The identities of the suspects remain undisclosed as all three fled the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made.

According to a statement from the LAPD, a man was fatally shot around 3:00 am on Saturday near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. The victim is believed to have interrupted a theft in progress, with three suspects attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car. Wactor was pronounced dead at the local hospital shortly after 3:00 AM.
