The Controversial Ajmer 1992 Case Calls For Movie Ban, Plea Was Filed In The Court

The makers of “Ajmer 92” have unveiled the teaser of the film, depicting the shocking incident that occurred in 1992 and shook the entire country. The movie sheds light on the plight of girls who were raped and blackmailed by influential men from the city of Ajmer.

Recently, Anjuman Moinia Fakhriya Chishtiya Khuddam Khwaja Saheb (also known as Anjuman Syedzadgan) filed a plea in court to ban the film, claiming that it hurt the sentiments of the people, as reported by LiveLaw. However, the court rejected the plea to ban the movie.

“Admittedly, since the petitioner has the alternative remedy of revision before the Central Government under Section 6 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, regarding the grievances raised in the present writ petition, no case is made out for interference by this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,” the court pointed out.

However, not many are aware of what the Ajmer 1992 case is about. “Ajmer 92” is a movie set in the year 1992, highlighting a case where minor girls between the ages of 11 and 20 were raped and blackmailed. The news was first reported by a newspaper called Dainik Navjyoti, which is circulated in Jaipur.

Farooq and Nafis Chishty from the influential Khadim family in Ajmer used to lead a group of men who would lure young girls, rape them, and then blackmail them. Investigations revealed that Farooq Chishty befriended a young girl from Sophia Senior Secondary School in Ajmer and took obscene photos of her, using them to blackmail her into introducing him to her school friends. These friends were then lured one by one to a farmhouse where they were gang-raped by young men led by the Chistys, who also took compromising photographs to prevent the victims from filing complaints.

It was also reported that the Ajmer police were aware of these developments but chose not to investigate due to the influence of the Khadim family. The news eventually broke out after the obscene photos were leaked, leading to the identification of the perpetrators by the police.
