Laapataa Ladies Vs Operation Valentine BO Collection Day 5: Films Sees “NO” Progress

1 March 2024, marked the release of two much-anticipated films, including Kiran Rao’s “Laapataa Ladies” and Varun Tej starrer “Operation Valentine”. While Laapataa Ladies opened up to positive reviews, Varun Tej starrer “Operation Valentine” received mixed reviews from critics and moviegoers. Both films received a poor response at the box office on their opening day. After seeing slight growth during the weekend, both films witnessed a huge drop at the box office in recent days. As per Sacnilk.com, Operation Valentine started off low at the box office. The film earned ₹ 1.5 Cr on its first day (opening day) at the box office. The film saw no growth even during the weekend, earning ₹ 1.95 Cr on Saturday and ₹ 1.85 Cr on Sunday. The film further dropped during the weekdays. Operation Valentine earned ₹ 1.02 Cr on Monday and ₹ 0.91 Cr on Tuesday. The film currently stands at a domestic total of only ₹ 7.18 Cr.

Just like Operation Valentine, Kiran Rao’s film, Laapataa Ladies also had a poor opening at the box office. As per Sacnilk.com, Laapataa Ladies earned ₹ 0.75 Cr on its opening day. The film earned slight growth during the weekend and earned ₹ 1.45 Cr on Saturday and ₹ 1.7 Cr on Sunday. However, the film saw a huge drop in weekdays earning ₹ 0.5 Cr on Monday and ₹ 0.50 Cr on Tuesday. Laapataa Ladies currently stands at a domestic total of approx. ₹ 4.90 Cr.

Operation Valentine Story/Plot

Operation Valentine is an action thriller film inspired by the 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack from Pakistan and the subsequent Balakot Air Strikes by the Indian Air Force. The film stars Varun Tej as Arjun “Rudra”, Manushi Chhillar as “Sonal Chauhan”, Navdeep as Wing Commander “Kabir Singh”, Ruhani Sharma as “Tanya Sharma” and Dev Singhania among others.

Laapataa Ladies Story/Plot

“Laapataa Ladies” narrates the story of Sparsh, a man who brings his newly married wife home after a lavish wedding. However, when she unveils her veil, it’s discovered that Deepak mistakenly brought another woman home, as his actual wife had been separated from him on a train journey. Meanwhile, the real wife finds herself at a different train station, struggling to recall her husband’s village or precise address. The narrative explores the events that unfold when Kishan, a police officer, undertakes the investigation of their disappearance.
