Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas dropped out at the box office. Tejas, a film directed by Sarvesh Mewara, is based on the life of Indian Airforce Pilot Tejas Gill. Kangana played Tejas’s role in the film. But as the film isn’t getting an audience, multiplex owners cancelled its show in Mumbai & Surat.
The film’s first day earnings at the box office was just 1.25 crore. Many people predicted that theatres would stop screening its show within a week, and so happened. Film flopped at its worst at the box office. Not only in Mumbai and Surat, but the film has no bookings all over India. In Surat, The Friday Cinema Multiplex cancelled almost 15 shows of Tejas. G7 Multiplex in Mumbai did not get many viewers. The number of viewers for the show was less than 100.
Though the story is good, the film couldn’t perform well. Kangana shared a video on social media requesting people to watch films in theatres. She mentioned the difficult surviving phase the industry would have to face if people stop going to theatres to watch movies. But even her own request didn’t make any sense. Her video received bad comments from users, and indeed, Tejas has become the ultimate flop. Audiene said that film doesn’t have the energy it needs. It can be more energetic and enthusiastic.
This is another failure of Kangana after Dhaakad, Thalaivi, Panga and Judgementall Hai Kya. At the same time, Vijay’s Leo and Vikrant’s 12th Fail have taken the market charge. These two movies have been doing really well. Leo’s recent box office collection is about ₹543 crore in just 12 days. While 12th Fail has won the audiences’ hearts. It earned ₹9.89 crore in just five days.
Rivalry movies is also one reason why Tejas flopped at the box office.
