Films Releasing In Theatres This Week

Chandu Champion

Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Chandu Champion’ stars Kartik Aaryan as Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. The film follows Petkar’s journey from war hero to record-setting Paralympic champion. Featuring Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, and Palak Lalwani, it celebrates Petkar’s resilience and numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri, as a tribute to the human spirit.

Hamare Baarah

Directed by Kamal Chandra, the movie centers on a legal struggle as a daughter seeks court approval to terminate her mother’s risky pregnancy, ensuring her survival. The film stars Annu Kapoor, Parth Samthaan, Ashwini Kalsekar, Paritosh Tripathi, Manoj Joshi, Rahul Bagga and others. The Bollywood film was released in theatres on 14 June.

Inside Out 2

‘Inside Out 2,’ directed by Kelsey Mann, revisits teenager Riley’s emotions, adding Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment to Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. Featuring voices from Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, and Maya Hawke, this heartwarming adventure explores anxiety and staying present, promising relatable fun for all ages.

The Watchers

Directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan, ‘The Watchers’ stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, and Oliver Finnegan. Set in a haunted forest in Western Ireland, a young artist and three strangers are stalked by alien ‘watchers.’ Based on A.M. Shine’s novel, this visually stunning thriller fuses modern fables with Irish folklore.

Maharaja

Vijay Sethupathi stars in ‘Maharaja,’ an intense thriller directed by Nithilan Swaminathan. The film follows a barber seeking revenge after his home is burglarized and ‘Lakshmi’ is stolen, leaving the police puzzled about its identity. With Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Bharathiraja, ‘Maharaja’ promises gripping action and emotional depth.

Kudi Haryane Val Di

Directed by Rakesh Dhawan, ‘Kudi Haryane Val Di’ stars Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa in a charming rom-com. A carefree Punjabi Jatt falls for a spirited Haryanvi Jaatni, humorously embracing his family’s wrestling legacy to win her love. The film blends romance, comedy, and sports, highlighting the cultural nuances between Punjab and Haryana.
