Ekta Kapoor calls Aamir Khan a legend as she supports Laal Singh Chaddha

The state of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer film Laal Singh Chaddha is obnoxious. Even after six days of its release, the film failed to show its amazing performance at the box office. This circumstance is a result of the trend ‘Boycott Aamir Khan’, ‘Boycott Lal Singh Chaddha’, and ‘Boycott Bollywood’ ensuing on social media. Meanwhile, television producer and filmmaker Ekta Kapoor stood in support of Aamir Khan for Laal Singh Chaddha.

Ekta Kapoor had reached the screening of her upcoming film Dobaaraa directed by Anurag Kashyap and featuring Taapsee Pannu. During this, She was asked to comment on Laal Singh Chaddha and Aamir Khan’s boycott, she supported the film and described Aamir as the most business-generating legend actor in the industry.

Ekta Kapoor said about boycott against Laal Singh Chaddha, “It is so strange we are boycotting the very people who have given the best of business in the industry. All the Khans in the industry (Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan), and especially Aamir Khan are legends. We cannot boycott them. Aamir Khan can never be boycotted, the soft ambassador Aamir Khan can not be boycotted.”

Netizens called for boycott of Laal Singh Chaddha before the release of the film, proclaiming that Aamir had hurt religious sentiments in PK. Days before the release, Aamir responded to the boycott trend against his movie. He said: “If I have hurt anyone in any way, I am sorry. I do not want to hurt anyone. If so, I will respect their sentiment.”

Post the release of the film the difficulties increased and it fall flat at the box office. A Delhi-based lawyer has also filed a police complaint against Aamir Khan, Paramount Pictures (Producer), and several others for allegedly insulting the Indian Army and hurting Hindu sentiments in Laal Singh Chaddha.

Lal Singh Chaddha happened to be a disappointment at the box office despite releasing on a festive day. The film barely crossed the Rs 80 crore mark at the box office collection in six days. On Friday, just a day after the release 1300 shows of Laal Singh Chaddha were reduced across the country.
