Hamare Baarah actor Annu Kapoor commented on the incident where Kangana Ranaut, an actor-turned-politician, was slapped by a CISF woman constable at Chandigarh airport. Initially, Annu Kapoor claimed he didn’t recognize Kangana but later opined that Kangana should have taken legal action as a response to the incident.
During a press conference while busy promoting his new film “Hamare Baarah,” the actor addressed the slap incident when questioned about it. Annu Kapoor said, “Yeh Kangana ji kaun hain? Please batao na kaun hain? Zaahir hai aap pooch rahe hain toh koi bahut badi heroine hongi? Sundar hain kya? (Who is this Kangana? Is she a big heroine? Is she beautiful?)”
When a journalist mentioned Kangana’s new role as MP from Mandi, Annu simply remarked, “Oho woh bhi ho gayi! Abhi toh bahut shaktishaali ho gayi hain. (Oh, she has become that too. She is powerful now).”
Later the actor suggested that Kangana should pursue legal action against the personnel who slapped her, stating he would have taken the same step if he were in her shoes.
For the unversed, on June 7, at Chandigarh airport’s security area, a CISF woman constable slapped Kangana. Subsequently, the constable was suspended, and an FIR was filed against her. Kangana reportedly received the blow while en route to Delhi.
