Brahmastra: Despite receiving mixed reviews and becoming a target of the online boycott trend, Ayan Mukerji’s film Brahmastra has successfully managed to score decent figures at the box office. However, many people including the Dhaakad actress Kangana Ranaut were seen accusing the makers of sharing false box office figures, the actress also claimed that the film was made on a budget of ₹650 crores. Dismissing the reports about Brahmastra’s reported budget, actor Ranbir Kapoor claimed that all the reports about the film’s budget are wrong. Here’s what he said-
Ranbir Kapoor Says Brahmastra’s Reported Budget Figures Are “Wrong”
In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ranbir said, “These days, we are reading a lot where people are discussing the budget of the film. People are saying this much is the budget and this much is the recovery. But Brahmastra is unique being where the budget is not just for one film but for the whole trilogy.”
While the reports have claimed that the film is made on a budget of almost 400cr, Ranbir was seen stating that only the VFX of the film was made on a budget of as much as ₹100+ crore. “So, the assets we have created for the film, like the fire VFX or effects for other superpowers, they will be used in three films. So, it’s not like the figures floating around, whether it’s hundred rupees or two hundred rupees, are correct. It’s all wrong. The economics of this film is not like the economics of other films that have been made in our industry. Now, we can easily go into part 2 and part 3. With part 1, Ayan had to learn how to make this kind of a film,”
Brahmastra Reported Budget & Box Office Collection
For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra has crossed the 200cr mark with its domestic earnings. While the film has already surpassed the 300cr mark with its gross earnings including the international box office collection.
