Ever since the teaser of Adipurush was released the film has been into controversy. Following a ban and legal notice, a fresh complaint has been registered in Jaunpur against five including the producer of the film Adipurush, Om Raut, actors Prabhas, and Saif Ali Khan. Advocate Himanshu Srivastava filed the complaint for which Judicial Magistrate Ashutosh Singh locked 27th October for the statement of the complainant.
Through advocate Upendra Vikram Singh a civil court advocate Himanshu Srivastava filed a complaint in the court. The new objection is that in the teaser Lord Ram and Sita are shown in indecent dress, while Hanuman ji is shown wearing a leather robe. The costume of Ravan played by Saif Ali Khan is also very indecent.
To revise, the Adipurush teaser was unveiled on 2nd October at the sacred land of Lord Ram – Ayodhya. Om Raut directed the film after his directorial debut Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which won Nation Film Awards. Prabhas will essay Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon will play Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Ravan, and Devdutt Gajanan as Naage Hanuman.
According to the complainant, it was announced in the teaser that this film is based on Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayana but the reality is opposite. The complainant quotes that the faith of all of us has been tarnished and religious sentiments have been hurt after watching the teaser. The deities have been deliberately made fun of throughout the film which led to the disturbance of public peace in the whole country.
The unity and integrity of the country are being affected. It seems that Bollywood has no other issue left than making a controversial film with gods and goddesses. The environment of the country is being spoiled to increase TRP and earn more profits. Due to this communal harmony is being adversely affected. The complainant has demanded from the court that the accused should be punished by summoning them under various sections.
Adipurush is adapted from the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. Helmed by Om Raut Adipurush is produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles. The mythological drama is scheduled to release in theaters on 12th January 2023.
