Adipurush has received downbeat responses since the teaser of Om Raut’s ambitious project was released. The magnum opus pulled massive criticism for poor VFX and the wrong representation of deities. Lately, while netizens trolled the movie, the Chief Priest of Ayodhya Ram Temple demanded a ban. Tagging along Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha sent a legal notice to the director Om Raut asking to modify the movie.
Advocate Kamlesh Sharma sent the notice on behalf of the National President of Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha Pt. Suresh Mishra. They had asked Om to remove controversial scenes or else face legal action and for the same SBM had provided seven days period of grace. Reacting to the modification to the film the director didn’t deny making changes.
He said, “Hum par vishwas rakhein (have faith in us). For us, our audience is supreme. So all the sages, our elders, whoever is telling us things, we are taking note of it. We are writing it down and I assure you that when this film releases on 12 January 2023, we will not disappoint anyone. Believe in us, we will make it happen.”
Asked if he will consider making changes Raut says the team is taking notes and audience won’t be disappointed by the results. He further added, “We have seen only 95 seconds of the teaser. I say this again, we are taking all the notes. I guarantee that nobody will be disappointed.”
Adipurush featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan is based on the Indian mythological epic Ramayana. Adipurush is adapted from the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. The film based on Ramayana will have Prabhas essaying Ram, Kriti Sanon will be seen as Sita, Saif Ali Khan will play Lankesh aka Ravan and Sunny Singh will play the role of Laxman. Helmed by Om Raut Adipurush is produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles. Adipurush is scheduled to release in theaters on 12th January 2023.
