MaharajaBoxOffice: Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil revenge drama, “Maharaja” was released in the theatres on 14 June 2024. Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, the Tamil film opened up to positive reviews from moviegoers and critics. Following the positive reception, the revenge drama registered a strong opening at the box office.

As per Sacnilk.com, Vijay Sethupathi’s Tamil revenge drama, “Maharaja” earned approx. ₹ 4.50 Cr. Made on a budget of approx. 20 Crores, the Tamil film faced tough competition with Kartik Aaryan starrer Bollywood sports-drama, “Chandu Champion”.
Meanwhile, Maharaja is expected to see growth during the upcoming weekend (Saturday-Sunday). If all goes well the film could cross the 10-12Cr mark by the end of the weekend.

About Maharaja
The Tamil film revolves around a dedicated barber whose life is turned upside down when his house is burgled, compelling him to pursue revenge. At the police station, he cryptically refers to his ‘lakshmi’ being stolen, raising questions whether ‘lakshmi’ is a person or an item. This enigma propels the story as both officials and viewers become involved in the mission to reclaim what was taken.
