Indian2: Directed by S. Shankar the much-awaited Tamil film, Indian 2 was finally released in the theatres on 12 July. Starring Kamal Haasan, Indian 2 is a sequel to the 1996 cult vigilante film, Indian. However, despite the buzz and anticipation, the film has now opened up to “mixed” to “poor reviews” from the audience. While some hailed Kamal Haasan’s performance in the film, a huge segment of moviegoers have tagged the film a “flop” stating that the sequel is a ‘disgrace’ to the prequel, Indian (1996).

“Indian 2,” the sequel continues the story from its prequel, focusing on Senapathy, a former freedom fighter turned vigilante, as he returns to fight corruption. Joined by a young ally exposing corrupt politicians online, Senapathy responds to public demand for justice.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) many moviegoers shared their reviews, unfortunately, a segment of netizens tagged the film as “disappointing”. Calling the sequel a “disgrace” to the 1996 release Indian, A user wrote, “#Indian2 #indian2review You cannot make such a worst movie, that too from Shankar and Kamal. Such a disgrace to Indian 1. Movie just falls flat after first 20 minutes, overdose of advise, varma, climax fight and such a boring screenplay. Everything looks artificial. It’s done.”
Calling the film, “disappointing” a user wrote, “Disappointing Sequel Falls Short of Expectations ½ (2.5/5) I walked into the theater with high hopes, expecting a thrilling sequel to the original “Indian” (1996). Unfortunately, #Indian 2 fails to deliver on its promise.”
