Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, the much-anticipated Malayalam film, Malaikottai Vaaliban starring Mohanlal, was released in theatres on 25th January alongside the Bollywood film, Fighter. After opening to “mixed” reviews from the audience and critics, the Malayalam film registered a decent box office opening worth ₹ 5.65 Cr. However, as per the latest trade reports, the film witnessed a huge drop on Friday.
Malaikottai Vaaliban Box Office Collection Day 2
Starring South actor Mohanlal, the Malayalam action-thriller film, Malaikottai Vaaliban opened up to mixed reviews from the audience and critics. However, despite opening to mixed reactions, the film successfully secured a decent opening at the box office and earned ₹ 5.65 Cr on its first day.
However, the Malayalam action-thriller witnessed a huge fall in numbers on Friday (Republic Day). As per Sacnilk.com, the Mohanlal starrer earned approx. ₹ 2.65 Cr on its second day. The film currently stands at a domestic total of approx. ₹ 8.3 Cr.
The Malayalam film has been facing tough competition with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Bollywood film, Fighter which is currently roaring at the box office. However, as per the trade reports, the Malayalam film, Malaikottai Vaaliban can see growth during the upcoming weekend and cross the 10cr mark by the end of the weekend.
