Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his rumored partner Pavithra Gowda have been arrested in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case. Darshan, aged 47, was detained by Bengaluru police in Mysuru. Viral CCTV footage captured Darshan’s car near the crime scene. Who Was Renuka Swamy?
According to PTI, Renuka Swamy, aged 33, worked for a pharmacy company and was from Chitradurga. He was the only son of retired BESCOM employee Shivanagowda-Ratnaprabha. Swamy, married last year on June 28, was expecting a child with his wife due in six months. Swamy was an alleged fan of Darshan, accused along with his aides in his murder.
Renuka Swamy’s Murder Connection With Darshan And Pavithra Gowda
Renuka Swamy’s body was found on Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He was employed at an Apollo Pharmacy in Chitradurga. Police stated that Renuka had been sending inappropriate messages to Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan’s. Swamy was allegedly murdered, and his body was reportedly disposed of in a canal near Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru, in the presence of Darshan.
Darshan-Pavithra Gowda Arrested
Eight of the accused have implicated Darshan in Renuka Swamy’s assault, alleging his presence during the incident. The perpetrators planned to dispose of the body in the Vrushabhavati valley, but it was discovered by dogs. An initial case of an unidentified body was filed on June 8.
Today, Darshan was arrested from his Mysore farmhouse and taken to the Kamakshipalya police station in Bengaluru for further investigation. Darshan’s rumored partner, Pavithra Gowda was also arrested later in the day.
