‘Kalki 2898 AD’, produced under the big banner of Vyjayanthi Movies and directed by Nag Ashwin, continues to dominate the box office even on weekdays. From nearly hitting the ₹200 crore mark on the opening day, crossing ₹500 crores in just four days, to now setting the box office on fire by surpassing the ₹800 crore mark in worldwide collections. The day is not far when the film will reach the jaw-dropping amount of ₹1000 crore!
Nag Ashwin’s directorial film, starring an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, and many more, has now grossed ₹800+ crore worldwide in just 9 days. The movie, released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada is ablaze in all languages.
In India, Kalki 2898 AD’s Hindi version tops the list by minting ₹9.35 crore, followed by the original Telugu version, which collected ₹6 crore. Additionally, the Tamil version grabbed ₹28 crore, Malayalam contributed ₹14.9 crore, while the Kannada version’s total is ₹20 lakh.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Part One was more about setting characters and the storyline. The real over-the-top experience will continue in Part Two, as shared by the director. Moviegoers will have a huge eye-feast, experiencing a terrific face-off between not two but three giant characters: Ashwathama (Amitabh Bachchan), Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) and Karna (Prabhas). Nag Ashwin also hinted that he will introduce a fourth world in Part Two.
Producer Aswani Dutt’s budget for the Prabhas-starrer film was over ₹600 crore and it has struck a chord with the audience at a global level.
